CTGPC positions itself as top-ranking international clean energy corporation primarily oriented towards large-scale hydropower development and operation. To accomplish the mission of ¡°building the Three Gorges Project and developing the Yangtze River¡±, CTGPC is dedicated to developing and operating large-scale hydropower projects, wind power and other clean energy projects with an aim to provide clean energies to the general public, achieve the goal of ecological harmony and play a leading role to bring the full use of integrated benefits in the Yangtze River valley.
Adhering closely to its development goals and emphasizing hydropower development as its mainstream business, CTGPC aims to achieve three strategic goals, i.e. the strategic goal of developing hydropower projects, the optimization strategy of developing new-type clean energy projects and the differential competition strategy, through the methods of effective development, merge, acquisition and restructuring.
With experience in the construction, management and operation of the TGP, CTGPC has developed ¡°four core abilities¡±, i.e. ability to construct and manage large-scale hydropower projects, ability to raise and manage funds for large-scale hydropower projects, ability to operate and marketing large-scale hydropower projects and ability to unified dispatching of cascade hydropower projects.

Cherishing the historic mission of ¡°building the Three Gorges Project and developing the Yangtze River¡±, CTGPC actively advocates and implements a new culture of sustainable hydropower development. It is committed to achieving the comprehensive goal of ¡°building a first-class hydropower plant to stimulate the growth of the local economy, improve the local environment, and benefit resettled residents¡± and realizing harmony of economical, social and environmental benefits.
In the next ten years, CTGPC will focus on the construction and operation of the TGP and the development of Jinsha River strategically and try its best to properly operate and manage the TGP-Gezhouba hydropower projects in order to give full rein to their role in flood control, electricity generation and navigation. CTGPC will also build Xiluodu project, Xiangjiaba project and other works in progress according to high standards and facilitate the progress of Wudongde project and Baihetan projects. In the meantime CTGPC will actively develop wind power and other forms of new energy projects, and steadily implement the strategy of ¡°going globe¡±. In 2020, CTGPC is expected to have a total installed capacity of 70,000MW from its hydropower projects and 20,000MW from its wind farms and new energy projects.
