Phase-III RCC Concrete Placement

Basic facts of the RCC cofferdam are shown as follows: concrete gravity dam, dam crest length of 580 m, dam crest elevation of 140 m, maximum dam height of 115 m, and concrete placement of 1.68กม10 6 m3 . The cofferdam was built in two stages. In the second stage, the dam section of 380 m long, 90 m high, concrete placement of 1.1กม10 6 m3 was completed within five months, which was surely a incredible achievement in high intensity, great difficulty, tight schedule, and strict quality control.

In order to conquer the above challenges, CTGPC organized relevant institutes and contractors to carry out technological research in advance. Scientific management and new technology approaches helped to finish the task ahead of schedule and create records in RCC concrete placement as follows: maximum placement area of 19,012 m2 , maximum monthly concrete placement of 476000 m3 , maximum daily concrete placement of 21,066 m3 .
